Where Reason Dared to Dance
I built with words, with bodies, thought, and clay,
Set poems loose where reason dared to dance;
I launched the Boardroom Bard, a daring stage,
And taught, and mentored, at Cambridge halls,
I taught young minds to try an oblique glance
In school halls, lecture rooms, assemblies wide,
In Cambridge courts worn smooth by other minds.

I taught young minds to try an oblique glance
In school halls, lecture rooms, assemblies wide,
In Cambridge courts worn smooth by other minds.
I spoke where ideas gathered their finest gowns,
Launched festivals that clinked like crystal glasses,
And moved through clubs with bespoke poems in hand,
MCing moments that invited laughter and thought alike,
Sometimes measured, sometimes delightfully overlong,
Each line a gentle detour, a knowing wink,
Each audience a mirror for the improbable, the unexpected.

I wore silver jeans under the sun of distant islands,
Danced with accountants in ballrooms dressed as princes,
Zip-wired through rainforests, shaped forms from clay,
Taught, wrote, tapped, and gathered moments like rare coins,
Finding joy in small glittering victories,
Reuniting with friends whose faces had grown decades,
And leaving behind only traces of curious thinking,
A year lived broadly, fully, without apology.
